Crispin Akerman Biography

Born in Dorset, England in 1960, Crispin Akerman arrived in Perth, Western Australia at the age of six. After leaving school he enrolled at Claremont School of Art, leaving a short time later to become a founding member of Perth music group Eurogliders. Based in Sydney from 1983, the band travelled extensively, playing across Australia, America, Canada, Britain, and Japan. In 1988 Crispin left the band and resumed his art studies. He attended Julian Ashton's in Sydney for six months and went on to graduate from Canberra's Institute of Arts in 1992, majoring in painting. Since 2008, he has been living and working in the Blue Mountains, in New South Wales.
